WEEKEND WORKSHOPS

BSA Workshops are usually held over one weekend, from 10am to 4pm, which allows allow for intensive focus on a diverse range of visual arts subjects and mediums, with experienced teachers who are nationally-recognised practicing artists.

Some of the workshops we list are particularly unique opportunities to engage with national and international artists who are visiting the area and offering cultural engagement with our community.

All classes are held at 112 Dalley Street, MULLUMBIMBY

HELLE JORGENSEN | THE ART OF BRUSH-MAKING

Over the course of this one-day workshop Helle will support students to explore various knotting and lashing techniques, and cordage making.  Through demonstrations and experimentation, students will create their own unique brushes using found objects and local plant material. MORE INFO

CALEB REID | ABSTRACT PAINTING

In this two-day course, students will learn different approaches to abstraction in painting, beginning with abstracting real objects through shape, tone, texture, and colour. The class will then move into pure abstraction, exploring what makes a successful painting that expresses ideas and emotion without depicting identifiable subjects. Throughout the course, Caleb will help students discover their own visual language and artistic interests in a supportive, thoughtful environment. MORE INFO
