VISUAL ARTS FOUNDATION

(1ST YEAR)

BSA Visual Arts Foundation (FYVA) is our first year course designed to provide an extensive grounding in the Visual Arts.

This is a structured studio program incorporating expanded approaches to disciplines including—but not limited to— drawing, painting, printmaking, 3D studies, installation practice, digital media, design principles, colour theory, art history and critical thinking.

The course is designed to help you acquire the knowledge, skills and experience needed to form an integrated understanding of contemporary ideas and practices.

VISUAL ARTS PRACTICE

(2ND YEAR)

BSA Visual Arts Practice (VAP) is our second year course designed to further develop students' individual practices beyond the first year Visual Arts Foundation (FYVA) course, or where there is a recognition of equivalent study or professional experience in the visual arts.

Students are guided by our experienced team to develop critical thinking and to further hone their visual language through research methodologies and experimentation across a range of disciplines including—but not limited to— drawing, painting, printmaking, 3D studies, installation practice and digital media.

VISUAL ARTS RESEARCH & PORTFOLIO

(3RD YEAR)

BSA Visual Arts Research & Portfolio (VARP) is our third year course designed for students looking to further develop their practice through the creation and presentation of a body of work.

This third year course is suitable for those students who have completed our second year Visual Arts Practice (VAP) course, or where there is a recognition of equivalent study or professional experience in the visual arts.

Whether you are looking to expand your existing portfolio or are a more experienced artist wanting to revitalise and strengthen your practice, this course facilitates a critical awareness and understanding of visual art and its contexts through fostering professional artistic practice at the individual level.
