CALEB REID | ABSTRACT PAINTING
In this two-day course, students will explore various ways to approach abstraction in painting.
Caleb will guide students with an exploration of abstraction of real objects, using shapes, tone, texture and colour to create images that are abstract identifiable objects. Following that, the group will expand this idea further into the realm of pure abstraction. Students will examine what makes a successful painting that does not seek to depict identifiable things - an arena of emotion, ideas and painting with freedom from representational qualities.
Caleb will guide students to find their visual language and explore their own visual interests, offering a supportive learning environment while fostering critical thinking.
