BSA Visual Arts Practice (VAP) is our second year course designed to develop students' individual practice beyond the first year Visual Arts Foundation (FYVA) course or where there is a recognition of equivalent study or professional experience in the visual arts. Students are guided by our experienced team to develop critical thinking and to further hone their visual language through research methodologies and experimentation across a range of disciplines including - but not limited to - drawing, painting, printmaking, 3D studies, installation practice, art history, critical thinking and digital media. In line with our Artists Teaching Artists model of education, we incorporate a range of learning activities both within and beyond the studio environment to include field trips, gallery visits, guest lecturers, mentorships and professional exhibition practice.
Eligibility: Students who have successfully completed the BSA foundation year (FYVA) are eligible for the Visual Arts Practice (VAP) course. Alternatively, to discuss recognition of prior study or professional experience in the visual arts please contact us at admin@byronschoolofart.com or phone 0487 362 141.
Pathways: Students who successfully complete our second year Visual Arts Practice (VAP) course are then eligible to apply for our third year Visual Arts Research & Portfolio (VARP) course.
Application: To apply for our second year Visual Arts Practice (VAP) course, please complete the Application Form at the bottom of this page and submit it by 25 November 2024.
