VISUAL ARTS INTRODUCTION COURSE (VAI) 12 Week Course LOCATION | 112 Dalley Street, Mullumbimby, NSW DATES | 12 Mondays, 19 August - 18 November (2-week break) TIME | 10.00am - 3.00pm
The BSA Visual Arts Introduction Course is a 12-week course offering a structured program to introduce students to the fundamentals of contemporary art through observational drawing, design elements, materials, colour theory, painting, 3D studies and more.
This is a great introductory course for anyone who is considering studying in the visual arts but feels like there are some key building blocks missing, or for anyone who just wants a more solid foundation from which to build their practice.
This course may also be a pathway into the BSA Visual Arts Foundation Course, but is not a pre-requisite.
No previous experience necessary.
Weeks 1 – 6 19 August – 23 September 2019
Kat will start by introducing drawing materials and tools, moving into observational and experimental drawing exercises including elements from the natural and constructed world. She will also touch on some sculptural processes investigating 3D drawing and form.
Weeks 7 – 12 14 October – 18 November 2019
In the second half of the course Robyn will introduce aspects of colour theory, tone, composition and different painting surfaces and grounds. Exercises will explore watercolour/gouache and acrylic techniques and styles. Subject matter will include still life and elements of landscape.

Please note: There will be a break in the middle of these dates during the NSW school holidays: 28 September - 6 October.
