MICHELLE DAWSON | Visual Arts Introduction Course
During this six-week course, Michelle will guide students to explore drawing fundamentals with reference to materials, surfaces and different drawing processes. Engaging with a variety of observational and experimental drawing exercises the class will investigate contour, gesture and tonal drawing. Michelle will also touch on grids, perspective and ellipses.
Students will then progress to an introduction to the basic tenets of colour theory. Working predominantly with acrylic paints, the class will focus on colour mixing, limited palettes and a range of painting techniques. Utilizing the Still Life genre, students will explore composition, tone and ways of modelling an intriguing array of objects in space.
This course may also be a pathway into the BSA Visual Arts Foundation Course, but is not a pre-requisite.
No previous experience necessary.
