SHARON MUIR | EXPLORATION WITH GOUACHE
Gouache is a luscious and vibrant opaque watercolour, and in this one-day workshop, we will explore the unique character of this versatile medium. Gouache can be used to create delicate transparent washes, rich velvety layers, or crisp, bold shapes.
Through a series of guided demonstrations and hands-on exercises, students will learn essential techniques for working with gouache, including colour mixing, layering, creating tonal variation, and using a range of brushstrokes to develop texture and detail.
By the end of the workshop, students will have gained a solid understanding of how gouache behaves and how to use it with confidence to create both small studies and more resolved paintings.
The workshop is suitable for beginners as well as painters wishing to expand their skills and explore new possibilities in their painting practice.
