Amber Wallis | Professional Practice

On Day One Amber will lead students through an exploration of industry standards for artist’s CV’s and bio’s and explain various types of artists' statements. Amber will share practical skills and tips for writing individual artist statements, exploring active language and tools to prompt key words and phrases. There will also be discussions on the capabilities of Instagram and how to incorporate your text and practice into your feed as well as tips on digital filing and retrieving.

On Day Two, Amber will turn toward grant writing, art prizes, residencies and other opportunities for artists and how to apply for them. Students will be taken through a step-by-step approach to applications to understand the how to fine tune your submission.

Time permitting, students can work on any of their individual writing with Amber’s direct support.
