The BSA Visual Arts Portfolio is a one year course providing an extensive approach to the Visual Arts. The course is designed to help you acquire the knowledge, skills, and experience needed to form an integrated understanding of contemporary ideas and practices, critical thinking and the development of your own visual language. Whether you are starting out, need a portfolio to go to university or are a more experienced artist wanting to develop your practice, the course is designed to facilitate a critical awareness and understanding of visual art and its contexts.
The primary focus of all our teaching is on the individual. Small class numbers make it possible to work with each student and be specific about their requirements and artistic development. While there is a structured program incorporating drawing, painting, printmaking, 3d studies, design and creative thinking; students are encouraged to develop their practice to prepare for a career in the creative industries. All our teachers are experienced educators with nationally recognized art practices.
