SHONA WILSON | COLLABORATIONS WITH NATURE - EPHEMERAL LAND ART
This 2-day workshop affords participants the time, space and guidance to explore and make a range of works co-created outdoors with and in nature. Participants will learn about the lineage of Ephemeral Art and then be taken through a series of exploratory exercises and techniques to gain confidence in making site-specific artworks. Using only natural materials found on site and without any tools, participants learn how to see and and respond to any natural environment as a space for sensitive creative play. On Day 2 Shona will facilitate participants to create individual self-directed works in response to the environment.
Simple photography will be explored as a method for documentation, reflection and as artful image creation with the ephemeral works created.
All artworks will be left on site and participants will take home their writings, recordings and photographic images.
Encouraging creativity, sustainability and mindfulness, Shona’s process-orientated and exploratory methodology is a gentle and often surprising way for participants to connect and become a bridge between art and nature.
