Rene Bolten
Rene Bolten is a highly esteemed and established artist, who lives and works in the Northern Rivers Region. Rene studied at the Academy Rietveld, Amsterdam, Netherlands from 1973-1978. And has been living and working as an artist in the Northern Rivers for the past 30 years. Rene has exhibited nationally and internationally in 17 solo exhibitions and 18 group exhibitions and was recently awarded the 2013 Northern Rivers Portrait Prize. He has extensive teaching skills has facilitated a number of art workshops throughout the region and Australia wide, including Still Life painting workshops in Nimbin and Bangalow with the Byron BaySchool Art since 2013 to present.
Rene is actively involved in the wider community through his art. He has been involved creating murals for Lismore Base Hospital Childrens Ward and Cancer Care Children's treatment room for North Coast Area Health, INTRA (the Buttery outreach Program) and street funded murals supporting Australian Indigenous youth and African youth.
