Michelle Dawson I The Art of Illustration
Have you ever thought about illustrating a book or simply expanding your skills? In this six-week course participants will receive an introduction to book illustration, develop a storyboard and create final artworks to illustrate a set text in their own style and chosen medium.
Or if you have a favourite text, project or manuscript of your own which you would like to illustrate, you can bring that along.
The course will require participants to work on their projects between classes.
Michelle has illustrated 4 published texts for children and young teens. Her first book, 'how WEIRD is that...' (by Gyan), was nominated for the Crichton Award for Best New Illustrator, and another release, 'Let’s Go To Sleep' (by Margaret Wild), was selected by The Australian Publishers Association and Books Illustrated to participate in an exhibition showcasing Australian Illustrators at the prestigious 2014 Bologna Book Fair. Her most recent book, 'Fluke', written by Leslie Gibbes was released in August 2017.
