Matthew Hall-Fong I Life Drawing

For centuries, the timeless art of drawing the human figure from life has captivated artists worldwide. Before the advent of photography, draughtsmen and painters relied on intense observation to develop their visual literacy, mastering the ability to capture the human form with precision.

Over the span of four weeks, this immersive course will provide a comprehensive investigation into the art of figure drawing. Each class will feature a different pose, allowing participants to experience a variety of perspectives.

Bringing his academic training from Florence, Italy, Matthew will guide participants of all levels to enhance their skills, deepen their understanding of anatomy, and refine their ability to depict the human figure with both accuracy and expressiveness. The instruction will place a strong emphasis on essential concepts such as proportion, gesture, anatomy, and line quality, ensuring a well-rounded and enriching learning experience.

Dates I 4 x Thursday evenings, 4 - 7pm, 29 August - 19 September

Course fee: $300 ($280 EarlyBird - pay by 16 August)
