LIV ENQVIST | TEXTILE EXPLORER

Explore the possibilities of using textiles for art making with this one day workshop. Students will learn how to transfer designs to interpret drawings onto textiles. With Liv's support, students will be guided to paint with thread and various stitching techniques. Further techniques include textile collage and appliqué and how students can use large scale embroidery for mark making and texture.

Liv will introduce both fabric and non traditional surfaces to liberate the mind from the fear of taking the wrong step. If desired, students can bring an old item of clothing to transform into a (wearable) art piece.

This is a skill building workshop and a process driven way to create with smaller exercises to practice techniques and test out ideas rather than creating one specific outcome.

This workshop offers the opportunity to experience the meditative qualities of stitching and to enjoy the tactile qualities of working with cloth and thread to express your ideas.
