In this seven-week course students will be exposed to the vast potential of clay as a sculptural medium within a contemporary ceramic context.

Learning the various techniques of hand-building, including pinching, coiling, slab-building and modelling to develop sculptural objects, students will gain a foundation in the technical knowledge essential to the ceramic process.

Kat will guide students through conceptual development and the exploration of visual language in form and surface, utilising a range of midfire clay bodies, as well as decorative possibilities of slips and underglazes, or alternate colour/surface considerations, and glaze.
