James Guppy | Portraiture

Creating a good portrait, one that really draws the viewer in, requires observational skills unmatched in any other area of the visual arts. As one of the most challenging subjects in art, portraiture offers a powerful opportunity to learn to observe what we are looking at and translate this into an artwork.

Using drawing and painting techniques, this taster will give you an introduction to the principles and practice of portraiture.
