VISUAL ARTS RESEARCH & PORTFOLIO (Third Year)
(VARP) One Year Course
30 weeks, Two days per week: Thursdays & Fridays 10:00am – 3:00pm

Term 1 | 28 February until 12 April, 7 weeks (3 week vacation) Term 2 | 9 May – 5 July, 9 weeks (3 week vacation) Term 3 | 1 August – 20 September, 8 weeks (3 week vacation) Term 4 | 17 October – 22 November, 6 weeks
This course is intended for students who want to develop a body of work and have completed our Visual Arts Practice Course (VAP), or the equivalent studies in another institution. Whether you want to expand your portfolio or you are a more experienced artist wanting to revitalise your practice, this course is designed to facilitate a critical awareness and understanding of visual art and its contexts as well as develop your professional practice.
Students will continue to investigate their research skills through a guided program that will include studio work relative to their practice such as drawing, painting, printmaking, 3D and installation. Field trips, gallery visits, guest lecturers, and group and/or solo exhibitions are also components of this course. Students are expected to work in their studios as well as on site at BSA.
Total Cost: $4680 (incl. GST). If students pay before 9th February 2019, course fees will be discounted to $4400 (incl. GST).
To secure a place in the course, students must sign up for the whole year. (If due to any unforeseen circumstances the course does not run, all monies will be refunded.)
