Born in Melbourne, and now living in Mullumbimby, Sam has been involved in a wide range of Art and Design since graduating in Fine Art from the National Gallery School (Victoria).
Successfully running his own Design studio for over 20 years, Sam has also taught graphic design, drawing and printmaking at QUT and TAFE in Brisbane and in Melbourne.
Sam is a patient and thorough teacher, imparting his passion for the arts to his students. He has taught and participated in print workshops around the country to foster his own professional development. Sam studied woodblock print making in Japan and is currently working on a new printmaking technique that combines both woodblock and lithography using a plywood substrate.
His work is displayed in the Queensland University Library, and in private collections internationally and in Australia. He has had two recent solo exhibitions at the Lone Goat Gallery.
